What’s the story behind your derby name/derby number? I had been Ginger Snapp'd #1 for my years with Pulp Affliction in Orangeville. Before the league closed, we had our final game and the players suggested that I become Hot Flash bc I’m always needing to open the doors when my hormones start an internal fire within me (even in the ass-cold winter!)

When did you join Roller Derby/Renegade Derby Dames? Why? I joined the league upon encouragement from Amanda (Hardmania) and because the Orangeville league folded. (I struggle a little bit with the distance driving as I have 2 kids in competitive swimming and I’m a single mom.)

What’s the best thing about roller derby? I love being the strongest, fittest version of myself. I also love the amazing, unique individuals I’ve met throughout the years.

Why do you keep playing? I stopped for a while when injured and came back for the hard- hitting, competitive nature of the sport.

What is your derby goal/dream? To feel as though I’m an integral, important member of a team.

Favourite derby moment? Being "crowned" MVP at a game last year for the first and only time!
